Horse-Drawn Wagon Ride

Take a traditional hayride pulled by two beautiful Clydesdale draft horses brought to us by Banner Farm!  Return to the slower pace of an earlier time and agricultural roots of Crown Hill on your hayride wagon pulled by Bonnie & Jake as you pass our grazing sheep, the vineyard, fields and woods.  Learn more about working horses as you enjoy the fall colors & picturesque views of Lake Erie on the horizon.

Fireside Snacks & Stories

At the farmhouse, warm up by the fire pit with a hot beverage and snack while you listen to stories of the haunted and paranormal history of Crown Hill.  Through the years, folks have known Crown Hill as “the suicide house”, “the murder house” or “the seance house” all of which reflect the curious and rich history of the farm.  Hear TRUE STORIES of encounters with the ghosts and paranormal phenomena told by author and former Crown Hill resident, Christina Abt. (Her book, “Crown Hill” will be available for purchase and signings on Sat. 1-4pm & Sunday 11-2)

ABOUT CROWN HILL FARM & MISSY SINGER DUMARS

IMG_4573.JPG

Crown Hill Farm is situated aptly enough, on top of a hill in Eden, New York - originally the land of the Erie. From the front porch, you can spot Lake Erie on the horizon, and the land itself is flanked by vineyards, an organic hay field, and rich hardwood forests. The farm has a rich history, the past 5 years of which I’ve been the author.

I raise heritage-breed Chickens, Ducks and Geese for their pasture-raised, soy-free eggs, grow a wide diversity of heirloom vegetables and fruits and raise Border Leicester Longwool sheep for natural hand-dyed yarn. We also have two livestock guardian dogs, three cats and a wonderful flow of interns who come to learn and help. I’m committed to practices that are kind to the land, regenerate the natural resources here and can sustain in a way that gives to the land while receiving it’s gifts.

I come to the farm from a deep tradition of entrepreneurship and business having grown up in a multi-generational family business. Having left careers in Theatrical & Entertainment Lighting, as a Therapeutic Massage Therapist and Business Coach I now get to bring everything I know together in service to Crown Hill. From these many chapters of my life, I channel the power of connecting people, cultivated aesthetics, sacred awareness, and inspired leadership to every endeavor I undertake.

ABOUT BANNER FARM, ERIKA ABBONDANZIERI & JONNY O’LOUGHLIN

Banner Farm sits atop 120 acres of pastures, ponds, rolling hills and forest land in Cattaraugus County, New York and is the year-round home of Erika Abbondanzieri and Jonny O’Loughlin along with their 4 horses, 1 donkey, 3 dogs, 2 cats and 8 chickens.

Erika, a practicing architect by day, is a native Western New Yorker with over 30 years of horse experience. Jonny, an audio/visual engineer, is originally from Ennis in County Clare, Ireland. The two met in Ireland while Erika was travelling, and soon after were married in Buffalo. After a long search for the perfect home, they moved from the city to Perrysburg, NY. Now Erika and Jonny enjoy the view of the Buffalo city skyline from the vantage point of a barn and horse pasture, and they look forward to future prosperity and cultivation at Banner Farm.

With Erika’s prior years of experience providing carriage service at Canalside and weddings, as well as her riding cameo in the movie A Prince for Christmas (2015), founding their own horse-drawn carriage business was a natural progression. The addition of Jonny’s steading riding and Irish wit make them a perfect pair.

In 2018, Erika and Jonny began offering weekend horse-drawn carriage service at the Buffalo landmark, Hotel Henry as well as private events in Western New York. They ride with a vintage vis-a-vis that can be open or closed and can comfortably seat 4-6 adults. Most carriage services feature Banner Farm’s Bonnie and Jake, registered Clydesdales. Bonnie and Jake are happy horses who live as a herd with the other horses and donkey at Banner Farm, with 24-7 access to shelter and pasture.
